Lust for Life
Two things.
1. Involuntary, the Swedish competition entry by Ruben Östlund, which I saw at the 11.30 screening this morning at Moviemento, is something pretty special. It'll be a pleasant surprise if I see a more impressive feature this week (Dario Argento triple-bill excepted, of course). The second screening is on Sunday at 4pm. Book now to avoid disappointment.
2. Speaking of Swedish things, sort of, Iggy Pop is 62 today. According to IMDb, 94 films have featured his songs, though I suspect the true figure is higher. Real name: James Newell Österberg, Jr. Dad, of Irish/English descent, was adopted by a Swedish-American family. Mother was of Danish and Norwegian ancestry. As a family tree, not a bad example of "Crossing Europe", eh? Anyway, happy birthday, Mr Pop. Or rather, "Pöp."
