The festival is now nicely underway, and in the cafes and bars of the city the sharp-eared eavesdropper will find fest-goers exchanging recommendations - and even the occasional "avoid-warning" - about stuff they've either caught themselves or heard about through the various grapevines that find their confluence in these environs. So far my personal highlight remains Involuntary, but reliable sources have alerted me to the following:

Perestroika - Reconstruction of a Flat (Sat 25 at 6.30pm and Sun 26 at 11am)
Mid-August Lunch (Fri 24 at 11.30am and Sat 25 at 8.30pm)
Gangster Girls (Thu 23 at 9pm and Sat 25 at 8pm)
six Inger Lisa Hansen films (Thu 23 at 8pm)

And with the weather in Linz (so far so sunny) apparently about to turn sour, there'll be no excuse to linger in the open air.

Speaking of which, an oddly perturbing report from the BBC informs us that "The Sun is the dimmest it has been for nearly a century. There are no sunspots, very few solar flares - and our nearest star is the quietest it has been for a very long time." I do hope somebody at NASA is currently checking out Danny Boyle's best movie of the decade - just to be on the safe side.
